Mentoring Program
Mentors volunteer an hour a week of their time in order to build a relationship with a child or teen. This time is meant to be fun and recreational, allowing both parties the opportunity to have a sociable experience while engaging in a meaningful program that has the capacity to change both of their lives.
We encourage members of our community to get involved. One hour a week can go a long way in the life of a child.
Mentoring volunteers must be 20 years or older, have a passion for changing lives and helping others grow, and experience in working with children is desirable (camp, other volunteer programs, informal interactions) but not absolutely necessary. Volunteers must commit for one year.
Training Requirements and Time Commitments:
1. Two 2 hour initial orientation sessions
2. Two in-service & supervision sessions yearly
3. Monthly phone contact with a supervisor
4. Keeping a brief log of contacts with the child or teen
