Bullying Prevention in the Classroom
Facilitator: Yocheved Gouhari, MSW
More often than not, students form cliques and children become victims of bullying, teasing, and feeling ostracized by their own classmates. In order to be an effective educator, a teacher needs to create a safe learning environment for the students. The Bullying Prevention program, modeled after B.R.A.V.E – Belief in the Rights And Values of Everyone, provides teachers with classroom interventions and practical curriculum (assignments, interactive games and activities) that clarify the role of the bully, as well as the victim, and empower bystanders to stand up for what is right. This program allows the educator to integrate preventative skills into a comfortable classroom setting, empowering all students to intervene in bullying situations, and create a safer school environment for all children.
