School-Based Counseling
The
School-Based Counseling provided by trained Aleinu therapists in our Los Angeles day schools helps students from kindergarten through high school who are faced with emotional and/or behavioral problems preventing them from having a successful school experience. Through school consultation as well as individual and group support the School-Based Counselors help children and families reduce the barriers to learning and improve the emotional and behavioral development of the child. By placing counselors in the schools, Aleinu is able to serve children in a familiar setting and with less interruption to their school day. This also helps reduce the stress, costs and travel time by family members.
Signs that a child may need school-based services:
• Depression or anxiety
• Social difficulties in school
• Excessive absences and tardiness
• Behavioral problems – getting in trouble often in class
• Difficulty adjusting to a stressful event such as divorce or the loss of a loved one
Working together with parents, students, educators and administrators, our Aleinu therapists help support and protect our schools and families, letting our youth know that we truly care and want to help.
