Internet EducationThe Aleinu Internet Education Conference alerts community members to the dangers of social-interaction Internet sites such as MySpace, Facebook and chat rooms. Each attending community member receives a copy of the Internet Safety Book containing articles and warnings from the LAPD and local Halachic Advisors as well as communication and guidance for at-home supervision.
Topics of discussion include:
1) Kids online
2) Controlling the internet before it controls your kids
3) The impact of the Internet on the family
4) Recommended software
Aleinu has created a startling video with kids and teens from the local community speaking out about Web bullying, sexual predators, and social trashing.
Aleinu continues to focus on Internet topics with the development of “Internet Safety Parent Workshops” and the future Safety Kid on the Net.
