Diabetes and Men's Issues
Erectile Dysfunction
Main points to remember about erectile dysfunction:
A man has erectile dysfunction when he can't sustain an erection long enough to satisfactorily complete intercourse in more than half of his attempts.
It can happen to all men.
Many factors can contribute to the problem including: physical health, psychological issues in the marriage, stress, alcohol (increases interest in intimacy but reduces performance), drugs, smoking.
Some red flags include: nerve damage, heart / circulation problems, high cholesterol, high blood sugars over extended period of time, hormone imbalance (not enough testosterone), and relationship issues. All of these, can be a factor in erectile dysfunction and you should seek appropriate professional assistance as needed.
Diabetic males may struggle with this as a result of nerve damage or diminished blood flow to the organ.
Maintaining good blood sugar control is important and can greatly help in preventing erectile dysfunction later on in life.
Advice:
Do not be embarrassed
Speak to your doctor about it
Try the doctor's recommended treatment
If that fails, try another treatment ... chances are that you will find a helpful treatment
