Halachic Advisory Board
The Aleinu Halachic Advisory Board (HAB) is a panel of leading Rabbis who work hand-in-hand with Aleinu to provide guidance and direction of its activities within a Torah framework. The Aleinu HAB has two major roles:
- To serve as a resource for Halachic consultation on a per need basis for difficult and complicated situations
- To serve as a platform for reviewing new projects and provide Rabbinic input for developing initiatives within our traditional value system
The Aleinu Halachic Advisory Board serves as a liaison with Rabbis and educational organizations both nationally and internationally.

Rabbi Avrohom Stulberger – Valley Torah High Schools
Rabbi Stulberger received smicha from his Rebbe, Rabbi Henoch Leibowitz Shlit”a, after many years of study in Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim. He has been Rosh HaYeshiva of Valley Torah High School for over twenty years. He has also been the Rosh HaYeshiva of Beis Medrash Ner Aryeh, and its high school, since its inception. In addition to his activities with the schools, Rabbi Stulberger has also been a well known participant in the entire North Hollywood Jewish community as a whole. Additionally, Rabbis Stulberger is the President of the Yeshiva Principals Council. He is an active Rabbinic Authority with the Loshon Hora hotline and he gives a weekly Hilchos Lashon Hora shiur.
Rabbi Gershon Bess - Kehillas Yaakov Los Angeles
Rabbi Gershon Bess is Rav of Congregation Kehillas Yaakov and serves as the Halachic authority for the Los Angeles Kollel and Yeshiva communities. He gives a slate of highly regarded lectures on Talmud and Halacha and is the Rosh HaVaad of Vaad L'Maan Yahadus which has published Halachic bulletins for many years. He is a graduate of the yeshivos of Philadelphia, Ponovez, Lakewood and the Kollel of Los Angeles and serves on the Bais Din of the Rabbinical Council of California.
Rabbi Berish Goldenberg - Yeshiva Rav Isaacson / Toras Emes
Rabbi Berish Goldenberg is an alumnus of the original Kollel of Los Angeles and currently serves as Torah Prinicpal of Yeshiva Rav Isaacsohn and Rav of Congregation Bais Naftoli in Hancock Park. He is an executive member of the Rabbincial Council of California, chairs its Family Commission, and serves on its Va'ad HaKashrus. On the presidium of Agudas Yisroel of California, he is also the liaison for the Orthodox community to the Los Angeles County Office of the Coroner.
Rabbi Yosef Shusterman – Chabad of Beverly Hills
Rabbi Yosef Y. Shusterman received both smicha and dyanis from Lubavitcher Yeshiva in New York. He is the Rav of Chabad of North Beverly Hills as well as the Rav of the Chabad community in Los Angeles and across the country. He serves as a member of the Vaad Rabbonim Lubavitch and sits on the Bais Din. Rabbi Shusterman is recognized worldwide for his knowledge of complex Jewish law. Because of his wisdom, understanding and knowledge of Chassidus, he is sought after as a speaker and counselor on an international level. Rabbi Shusterman supports Aleinu in addressing a wide perspective of issues in the Orthodox community, giving tremendous assistance to many people in need.
Rabbi Avrohom Teichman – Agudath Israel of Los Angeles
Rabbi Avrohom Teichman is the Rav of Agudas Yisroel of Los Angeles since 1981, and the Rav Hamachshir of Kehilla Kosher (IIgud Hakashrus of Los Angeles ) since 1979, and Av Beis Din (Rabbinic Head) of Agudas Yisroel ( Rabbinic Court ) since 1986.
He is a member of the executive of the National Council of Rabbonim of Agudas Yisroel.
Rabbi Teichman received smicha from the Roshei Yeshiva of Mesifta Torah Vodaath, and was a graduate fellow of the Torah Vodaath Kollel for nearly eight years. Concurrent with his kollel years, he had a close shimush relationship with major poskim of our time. As a rabbi's rabbi and posek, he is often consulted on complex and sensitive rabbinic matters worldwide.
Rabbi Shalom Tendler – Mesivta Beir Yitzchok
Rabbi Sholom Tendler is the Rosh HaYeshiva/Headmaster of Mesivta Birkas Yitzchok. He is Vice President of the Rabbinical Council of California and served as Rabbi of Young Israel of North Beverly Hills from 1993-2006. He was the Rosh HaYeshiva and Director of Academic Programs of Yeshiva of Los Angeles and Yeshiva University High Schools of Los Angeles, Boys’ Division, from 1980-2006. Rabbi Tendler has served on the Bio-Ethics Committee of Century City Hospital and on various committees for the Bureau of Jewish Education.
Rabbi Tendler is a renowned educator and is widely recognized for his erudite and articulate presentations of the most complex areas of Jewish Thought. His wisdom, sensitivity, and understanding of human nature have made him an invaluable community resource for guidance and counseling.
Rabbi Avrohom Union – Rabbinical Council of California
Rabbi Avrohom Union is the Rabbinic Administrator of the Rabbinical Council of California (RCC), the largest organization of Orthodox Rabbis in the Western United States. He oversees the Beis Din/Rabbinical Court, with responsibilities for financial arbitration, conversion, and divorce.
A native Miamian, he studied at Telshe Yeshiva Chicago and Yeshivas Bais HaTalmud in Jerusalem, where he received his Smicha. He also has a Masters degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. Prior to arriving in Los Angeles, Rabbi Union founded Ohr Somayach's branch in South Africa and served as a rabbi and dayan for the Cape Town Jewish community. In addition to his responsibilities at the RCC, Rabbi Union teaches halacha and Jewish history at Bais Yaakov and advanced Jewish thought at Maalot Los Angeles.
Rabbi David Zargari – Torat Hayim
As founder and Dean of Tashbar Torat Hayim, Rabbi David Zargari has been an inspirational leader for over 21 years. Rabbi Zargari has smicha from Ner Israel Rabbinical College. Rabbi Zargari holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Psychology and Law from Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Rabbi Zargari also earned his M.B.A. from Loyola College in Maryland. He lectures around the country and his work with Persian Jews is a continuation of his illustrious father, “Adon Zargari”. Despite Rabbi Zargari’s position as a prominant Rav in the community, establishing an Iranian Kollel, and serving on many rabbinic boards in L.A., Tashbar Torat Hayim remains a primary focus of R’ Zargari, benefiting from his wisdom and guidance.
Rabbi Summers
Rabbi Summers was born in Los Angeles where he attended local yeshivos. Upon his graduation from high school, he studied in Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim and received smicha from HaRav Moshe Feinstein, zt'l. Rabbi Summers return to Los Angeles, was also his return to Anshe Emes, the shul that his father, z'tl built in 1948 and led until his passing in 1972. From the time of his passing until the return of Rabbi Summers, the shul had been in a decline. Today, there has been a dramatic revitalizaion of this congregation. Anshe Emes currently has a full range of minyonim, shiurim and events. Both Rabbi Summers and his wife are involved with a wide array of teaching and counseling.
