Parents

Welcome Parents! Aleinu provides a whole host of services that can benefit you as parents as well as services to address the needs of your children. For new parents we offer support and guidance to new mothers through our New Moms Connect program, as well as parenting classes that address how to take the practical day-to-day tasks of parenting and infuse them with those ingredients that build positive relationships and healthy self-esteem. We also offer workshops for parents of teens and pre-teens, as well as step-parenting workshops. The latest addition to our parenting component here at Aleinu is Café Mom, an ongoing, weekly program designed to strengthen families by focusing on nurturing and empowering mothers. All of Aleinu’s workshops are carefully tailored to address the unique challenges that arise at different stages of life and development.

We also recognize that children need different services at different times in their lives and have created programming accordingly.  For our younger children, who are currently attending elementary school, we offer Social Skills groups to help them improve their ability to make friends and to get along with others. Aleinu also sends therapists into schools to provide individual counseling and workshops that go right to the heart of the issues our children face in schools each day. Our workshops include, Bullying Prevention addressing the damaging impact that bullies have on the students they victimize, and Mirror, Mirror, a workshop that focuses on developing healthy body image and strengthening self-esteem in our teens. Our most widely recognized program throughout the community is Aleinu’s Safety Kid Program which is a multi-faceted program that addresses how parents, schools, and the community at large can help our children stay safe from harm. Best of all, this program teaches children of all ages how they can keep themselves safe and what to do if they feel threatened or at risk.
