Chabad Hebrew School presents Parent Education Workshops

Nettie Lerner, Director of the Child Safety Institute at Aleinu Family Resource Center in Los Angeles, has been involved in Jewish education for children for over 30 years. Her influential work includes the Safety Kid program, now being included in the Chabad Hebrew School’s curriculum. Starting the 2007-2008 school year, innovative Parent Education workshops will be offered as opportunities to enhance the care parents provide for their children. Safety Kid is the first program to debut in the series.

The implementation of the Safety Kid at Chabad Hebrew School represents the collaborative efforts of school, parents, and community to provide safe surroundings for the children. Within the design of Safety Kid, all the instructors, parents and children receive individual training on what they can each do to be aware and prepared for any dangers. In collective teamwork, the Orthodox community can feel relief at taking charge in preventing the kind of situations that have troubled them in the past.
