Warmline
Are you feeling alone, worried, sad or just overwhelmed?
Do you or someone you love need some extra support?
Do you have s questions about the challenges of new parenthood?
The morning sickness, weight gain, those hours of labor are finally over, and now you're the proud parent of a beautiful baby. Having a new baby is a very exciting time in anyone's life. It can be magical, spiritual and wondrous. But it can also be overwhelming, frightening and very challenging. As everyone gathers around with good wishes and expressions of joy, you may feel unhappy, on edge, empty, anxious.
These feelings are more common than you think. In fact, 15% - 22% of new mothers may experience symptoms of postpartum depression after childbirth. Up to 80% may have Baby Blues.
What can you do?
The good news is that with intervention, most women can overcome their symptoms in a few months.
New Moms Connect of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles has a warmline to help your family receive support at this sensitive time. Our caring volunteers look forward to speaking with you.
