Aleinu Internet Education Conference

The Aleinu Internet Education Conference alerted community members to the dangers of social-interaction internet sites such as MySpace, Facebook and chat rooms. Each attending community member received a copy of the Internet Safety Book containing articles and warnings from the LAPD and local Halachic Advisors as well as communication and guidance for at-home supervision.
Topics of discussion included:
1) Kids on-line
2) Controlling the internet before it controls your kids
3) The impact of the internet on the family
4) Recommended software
Aleinu’s startling video with kids and teens from the local community speaking out about web bullying, sexual predators, and social trashing on-line affected all who watched it.
Aleinu continues to focus on internet topics with the development of “Internet Safety Parent Workshops” and the future Safety Kid on the Net.
