Safety Kid Goes to Politz School in New Jersey

In early December, Politz Day School of Cherry Hill, New Jersey became an Aleinu Safety Kid certified school, adding to the already growing number of schools locally and nationwide who are being educated to Keep Our Children Safe.

Aleinu Heroes of Hope Gala Event

Aleinu’s annual gala event honored four Heroes of Hope in our Jewish community: Dr. Robert Adler, Dr. Alan Dauer, Dr. Ernie Katz, and Dr. Hillel Laks. Focusing on the unique compassion and responsibility of the Jewish people, Aleinu welcomed nearly 300 supporters to the elegant Boulevard 3 on Sunset Boulevard. Aleinu’s budget is largely sponsored (80%) by private donations and the support of the community is what allows Aleinu to continue to provide the much needed services that benefit

Safety Kid Hike-a-Thon
June 1, 2008
The first annual Safety Kid Hike-a-Thon, benefiting school and community safety, was held Sunday, June 1st at Kenneth Hahn State Park. Families were invited to bring their hiking shoes and picnic blankets for a fun-filled day of safety, as they supported Aleinu’s Safety Kid program. The excitement built from the moment families entered the park and saw what was in store: activities, moonbounces, safety demonstrations, prizes, delicious food and games for all.

Shabbat of Awareness, MIA – Is your Marriage MISSING IN ACTION?

Aleinu Safe Camp Boot Camp Training

Camp Directors, Take a Stand! 15 Camps were represented at Aleinu’s second annual Safe Camp training for Counselors and Directors as Aleinu prepared them for another safe summer. Aleinu’s Child Safety Institute Director, Nettie Lerner, lead an educational evening, supper included, for camp staff. Difficult subjects and engaging mediation techniques were covered as staff asked for guidance and busily took notes.

Guys and Dolls Aleinu Tribute Night

Safety Kid at the Hatzolah Safety Fair
November 4, 2007
Aleinu partnered with Hatzolah at their annual safety fair hosted at Shaarey Tzedek in the Valley. The colorful Safety Kid booth was the biggest draw as parents and kids alike crowded around to learn more about upcoming Aleinu programs and Safe School Certification. The highlight was Safety Kid’s arrival, signing autographs and handing out raffle prizes. The fair drew nearly fifteen hundred community members.

Aleinu Certifies First Safe School 2007-2008 school year

Aleinu Family Resource Center certified its first Safe School in St. Louis, MO. The program, presented to Epstein Hebrew Academy, included administrative training and Behavioral Conduct Policy Guidelines, a parent workshop, and a children’s Safety Kid classroom presentation.

YULA “Think It Through – Make a Choice” Parent Presentation

Aleinu Counselors Boot Camp
June 1, 2007
Aleinu prepares local camp counselors and Directors for a safe summer, with their safety training and Behavioral Conduct Policy. Parents now have the opportunity to assess a camp not just based on their activities, but by the responsibility to protect their campers, and instill guidelines for safety.

Aleinu Annual Shabbat of Awareness
February 1, 2007
Aleinu addresses community hot topics with its annual “Shabbat of Awareness”; this year, Davening Under the Influence, DUI. After several teens experienced alcohol poisoning, and one nearly died in the emergency room over Simchas Torah, Aleinu began an advocacy campaign to enforce safe drinking and awareness for Yomim Tovim throughout the year.

Aleinu Community Outreach: “Caring For Our Aging Parents”

Aleinu hosted a full day conference on caring for aging parents, providing a resource guide of local services and national organizations that cater to the elderly, AARP support, and offering continuing services for those in need. Many sessions addressed the “Sandwich Generation”, those individuals caring for both their children and their parents.

Aleinu Internet Education Conference

Aleinu’s annual conference on Internet Education stirs community awareness on dangers of internet use and cyber predators. Special guest speakers included Detective Paul Bishop of the Los Angeles Juvenile Sex Crimes Division, and Philip M. Rosenthal, Computer Forensic Investigator.
