Preventing Summer Skill Loss for our Children
“All students lose skills during
the summer months,” Sasha Borenstein told the mothers of Café’ Mom, Aleinu’s
weekly group designed to give mothers the opportunity to come together and
connect with one another while acquiring new parenting skills. She went on to
explain how occasionally, while children are enjoying the many pleasures of
summer, many of the skills they have learned during the academic year begin to
decline.
As the Executive Director of the
Kelter Center, a private clinic that specializes in educational therapy,
Borenstein is an expert on how children learn and retain knowledge.
