Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of Aleinu is a multi-talented and dedicated group of individuals armed with a common goal. Aleinu means “it is our responsibility”. When a child is alone in crisis, an adult can no longer cope or life has become too hard to go on …. Aleinu is there.

I believe Arthur Miller, in Timebends, inadvertently described why people want to be a part of Aleinu. "Character is defined by the kind of challenges one cannot walk away from. And by those he has walked away from that cause him remorse."

I wholeheartedly support Aleinu with my time and my donations because I cannot walk away. I believe each member of the Executive Committee feels the same way. We know how critically important this service is to so many and we invite you to join us.

Judy Hager
"I am passionate about the mental health and well being of our community. It is vital that we provide social services to those who lack resources and advocate for those whose voices go unheard. Aleinu accomplishes this, working with community member while speaking a common language based on our Torah values."

Joleen Julis
"I love the work that Debbie Fox and her team provide our community and I am proud to be a small part of their efforts. Aleinu’s cutting edge programs provide inspirational, creative and innovative ways for dealing with child abuse, as well as many other issues currently facing our community. Aleinu is a leader, and role model for communities across the country, and I am very excited to see their programs spreading to other states, including like New York, and Arizona. In my eyes, Aleinu’s mission can be summed up as: Helping families in need to make their lives better and more functional in the present and for their future."

Rachel Mandelbaum
"There are many individuals and families right in our own Jewish community that are suffering in silence everyday. These children, young adults, mothers, and fathers often have nowhere to turn for help and support. Aleinu is the light that offers these individuals hope, guidance, safety, and strength. Aleinu inspired me to make a difference."

Susie Porgess
"Like many people in our community, I have much to be thankful for. If I had to stop and think of where I would turn if I needed help, I would know that Aleinu would be that place. Aleinu understands that suffering is both painful and private. Aleinu is there for those who suffer tragedies and require help accessing resources and support. Aleinu helps people move on by strengthening their individual and family lives with expertise and compassion in their greatest time of need. For me personally, Aleinu gives me the opportunity to make a difference."

"Four years ago when I heard Aleinu Director Debbie Fox speak about the silent suffering of children in our community, I knew I had to do something to help. I became involved in Aleinu to expand the resources for children and families who lacked the ability to advocate for themselves. I'm proud to be part of an organization that is providing cutting edge crisis response, education and programming for the difficult and painful issues that face our children and families today."

Betsy Timsit
"I originally got involved with Aleinu through Aleinu’s Child Safety Program as a Safety Kid Volunteer. I’m inspired by the amazing people who not only work for Aleinu, but also by those work from the heart of Aleinu, answering the calls of children who scared, women who are being women, at-risk teenagers, and distraught families. I love what Aleinu stands for, reaching out to the community, and answering the needs people are often too afraid to acknowledge. Aleinu’s not afraid."

Joy Volk
"Aleinu is an organization focused on the needs of our community. Charity begins at home and for people in our own neighborhoods who have nowhere else to turn, Aleinu is there. Aleinu was instrumental in helping my own family when we had a difficult situation. They provided support, comfort, and direction. Now, I want to give back to other families in our community who are struggling with their own difficulties."
